# Performance & Production Tuning

Practical tuning without weakening authority.

**Applies to:** `Nord Inventory v2.0.0`

- Keep `SaveIntervalSeconds` reasonable; the current default is 30 seconds.
- Avoid polling full inventory snapshots every frame in external resources.
- Cache static item definitions/catalogs where appropriate and refresh on provider changes.
- Use client read-only exports for display-only checks; use server exports for mutations.
- Keep ground prop draw/spawn distances bounded.
- Avoid oversized item images; ecosystem image registration has a 2 MiB default cap.
- Keep transaction/audit retention appropriate for server volume.
- Do not disable trunk session guards to solve a UI symptom; fix the underlying lock/network/distance integration.
