# Item Registry & Categories

Built-in categories and the provider-aware item registry.

Built-in categories in the current shared registry include:

- `generic`
- `food`
- `drink`
- `medical`
- `weapon`
- `ammo`
- `tool`
- `document`
- `evidence`
- `container`
- `clothing`
- `key`
- `technology`

Categories can also be registered at runtime by trusted providers. Provider ownership is tracked so one resource cannot silently masquerade as another provider when using the public SDK.
