# Vehicle States

Core integrations should understand the Nord state machine.

Common states include:

- `stored`
- `spawning`
- `active`
- `parked`
- `transit`
- `impounded`
- `seized`
- `service`
- `detached`

## Detached

`detached` is intentionally used when an owned vehicle is removed from all garages without a valid live entity. It prevents the row from appearing as a phantom active/stored vehicle.

## State safety

External scripts should prefer `SetVehicleState` or dedicated exports instead of direct SQL updates. The resource records normal state changes in `nord_garage_history` and notifies live integrations.
